Worship at First Presbyterian Church is a special time, when we find ourselves comforted and re-energized for the week ahead.  You'll find both laughter and tears as we share our joys and concerns together...our co-pastors bring the words of Scripture to life with both humor and insight...and our musicians bring a variety of talents to enhance our worship experience.

We worship on Sundays, both in the morning and evening.  Our Sunday mornings begin at 9:15 a.m. with Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults.  Immediately following is our 10:30 a.m. worship service with our adult choir lending their voices to worship and church members assisting in worship leadership.  Following the service is a time of fellowship with coffee, beverages and assorted snacks.

Sunday evenings offer a different style of worship beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Our co-pastors invite discussion and participation during the sermon time, our music is more contemporary and following worship, we gather for a potluck dinner as we relax and wind down together at the end of the day.  This is a perfect time to worship for those of us who have to work on Sunday mornings, people who have been away for the weekend, and those people that just like to sleep in on Sunday mornings.  It's not important when we worship - it's simply important to worship God.

Our congregation welcomes people of all ages to worship and we believe we are especially "child friendly" in our services.  You'll see children and youth of all ages in our services and we value their presence - even when the babies add their cries to our singing!  It's important for us to have all the generations present and worshipping God together, the same as we live and work together in our congregational life.

SPECIAL CHRISTMAS WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

During the Season of Advent, the co-pastors will present a special sermon series, "From Saint to Santa."  Each Sunday in Advent, we'll look at some of the characteristics of God that we associate with Santa Claus.  In addition...

December 6 - Instead of our regular 5:00 p.m. service, we'll have a special "Hanging of the Greens" celebration.  We'll begin at 3:00 p.m. with a family fun time, making crafts and ornaments for both home and church, and also assist in decorating the church for Christmas time.  At 5:00 p.m., we have a brief "Hanging of the Greens" worship service, followed by a potluck dinner.  It's a wonderful way to get in the spirit of the season!
